Plot summary
Michael Logan is an actor in New York whose career is going badly and whose relationship has just ended. Then he dies. He comes to in a very bright room, where a strange woman explains the situation: this is singles Purgatory, a waiting place for people who died unattached, and the only way out is to find a soul mate. The other residents are recently deceased single New Yorkers, and they date among themselves under customs Michael does not know. He has limited time, and he has to work out how romance is done in this place.
