Plot summary
Graham is a game developer in Los Angeles whose boss moves up a work deadline to Christmas, so he tells his family in Minnesota that he cannot come home. He changes his mind and flies out as a surprise, only to find his ex-fiancée Ali already staying with them; his mother Jeannie and sister Mindy admit they invited her and had given her his childhood room, and his father Dennis and brother Elliott have kept in touch with her too. Graham stays and tries to make Ali look bad so the family will pick him. Ali sees what he is up to and proposes a bet over who can win the family over first.
