Plot summary
A cosmic object fell into Earth's seas four billion years ago. In the present day, a huge artifact rises from the mountains of Bhutan, producing an electromagnetic pulse that causes worldwide blackouts. The NSA launches a military and scientific mission, led by Dr. K.C. Czaban, with engineer Mason Rand, brought in to assist. The local people call the artifact the Torus and venerate it as a gift from the gods with healing properties. The team finds it suspended in the air.
