Plot summary

Paul Nerteaux, a young and cautious detective, is working the murders of illegal Turkish immigrant women in Paris when a third slashed body turns up. He asks Jean-Louis Schiffer, a retired detective with unorthodox methods, for help, and the two set out to find the killer. Their search takes them into the Turkish mafia, whose members they try to get close to. In another part of Paris, Anna Heymes, a 31-year-old housewife, is undergoing a brain treatment that leaves her with severe headaches. Nightmares and hallucinations give her glimpses of memories and visions tied to the killings, images she cannot place.
