Plot summary
Witty Bitty Farm in North Dakota is struggling. The place doubles as a petting zoo and a camp where reindeer train, and Walter Whittick, a former baseball player, inherited it. Elliot, a miniature horse who lives there, trains with the reindeer and dreams of a place on Santa's sleigh team, and only Hazel, a goat, believes he has a chance. The reindeer carry a reputation for arrogance, and Walter pays Elliot no attention. When Blitzen retires, the North Pole announces tryouts to choose his replacement, and Walter counts on DJ, his most athletic reindeer, to earn the spot. Businesswoman Ludzinka arrives offering to buy the farm's animals; Walter will part with the petting zoo animals only and refuses to sell the reindeer.
