Plot summary
Marie Desmoulin is a teenager who lives by petty crime in Paris, working alongside her friends Solange and Ahmed. Her mother, Élisa, was left by her husband, lived in poverty and had lost touch with her own parents. Élisa once tried to kill her daughter when Marie was very young, and she later took her own life. Marie has spent much of her life in an orphanage and has never known her father, Jacques. She blames him for abandoning them and for what happened to her mother. One day she decides to track him down and take revenge for the help he never gave her as a child.
