Plot summary
Eddie Dodson deals high-end antique furniture in 1983 Los Angeles, moving among the rich and famous. He borrows money to finance a stylish shop, and when he cannot repay it he turns to loan shark Roy Fortune. His upper-class girlfriend Charlotte leaves him, and Dodson pawns an expensive vase taken from his friend Tina to buy a starting pistol. At a nightclub he meets Pauline, who insists on a ride; the two share a taste for Los Angeles punk and begin dating. Dodson tells her he means to rob a bank, and the next morning he does, flattering the teller so that no alarm sounds until he has gone.

- Foreign distribution caused an arbitration case after Osiris Entertainment said the production company, Myriad Pictures, secretly allowed the film to be distributed in territories known for rampant piracy. Once the film was pirated and went viral, Osiris demanded a discount, and the dispute was resolved confidentially in August 2015.
- Eddie Dodson, the Los Angeles bank robber at the center of the film, robbed 64 banks in 1983 before he was caught.
