Don Camillo in Moscow (1965) on Netflix

Plot summary

A tractor arrives in Brescello as a gift from a Soviet collective farm, and the town's Communist mayor, Peppone, proposes twinning Brescello with that village on the Don River. Don Camillo, the anti-Communist priest, tries to block the plan. Once Peppone and his comrades from Brescello prepare to cross the Iron Curtain for the twinning ceremonies, Don Camillo forces the mayor to include him by threatening to disclose embarrassing behavior. He obtains forged papers and travels under a false name, Comrade Tarocci; only Peppone and the Brescello comrades know his real identity. Once they are in the Soviet Union, the program arranged for the twin village includes ballet, opera, a fishing competition and parties.
