Plot summary
On Christmas Eve 1992, eight-year-old Grant finds the Twelfth Doctor dangling outside his window and pulls him inside. On the rooftop the Doctor explains that a device he was building went off by accident. Believing the gemstone is medicine for a cold, Grant swallows it, and his wish to be a superhero comes true. The Doctor completes the device and makes him promise not to use the new powers. In 2016 the Doctor arrives in New York with Nardole to look into Harmony Shoal, a research company, and meets reporter Lucy Fletcher, who is investigating the same company. Behind Shoal stands a group of alien brains that move themselves into human bodies when they need one. When an employee who has been taken over moves against them, a masked superhero called the Ghost intervenes.
