Plot summary
Henry served as a field surgeon in the Army and has untreated PTSD. He works in a Brooklyn lab. He builds a living man from body parts. A man named Alex is attacked on the street and stabbed; his brain goes into the creation, who wakes as Adam in Henry's home. Henry tests Adam's skills with baby toys, table tennis, and a handball. Adam has flashes of another life and gaps he cannot explain. Liz, Henry's girlfriend, arrives and sees Adam. Polidori, Henry's friend and collaborator, shows Adam an art gallery and a strip club.
