Plot summary
Depeche Mode brought their Memento Mori World Tour to Mexico City in September 2023 for three sold-out shows at Foro Sol stadium, with close to 200,000 people attending across the run. Those performances sit at the center of a film that places concert footage beside archival material and cultural interludes, taking in music, mortality and the ways Mexican culture approaches death. Memento Mori was the group's fifteenth studio album, and the first it made after Andy Fletcher, one of its founders, died in 2022. The filmmakers chose these shows partly because Mexico's own relationship with death echoes the record's themes.
