Plot summary
Three people lie dead in a house in rural Louisiana, and a young man named John is the only one found alive, in shock. Detective Mark Lewis calls in police psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Klein to question him, unsure whether he is a victim or a suspect. John's account goes back a week, when Michelle, his girlfriend, and her brother Sam asked him about visions of his dead mother, who sat in a house he did not recognize and told him to let go. Michelle and Sam belong to an amateur ghost-hunting team that also includes Jules, Donnie and Michelle's ex-boyfriend. The group traces the house in the visions to the site of a satanic ritual from the 1980s and drives there to investigate, with John coming along.
