Plot summary
René and Frankie are best friends at a Minnesota high school, and they get through it by staging fashion magazine photo shoots, bribing their siblings to stand in as models. René designs the clothes and follows his fantasies whenever he can; Frankie is never far from a camera and lives for punk rock. Both of them fall for Sasha, a shy soccer player who keeps a soft spot for Pushkin's poems. Then invitations to prom begin to compete, with the three of them caught in the middle, and the drama around outfits and dates puts the friendship and the whole prom at risk.
