Plot summary
Leslie is an aging hitman, low on his guild's rankings and short of the contracts he needs to stay in the game. His boss Harvey sets him a deadline, so Leslie goes looking for clients at suicide spots. There he meets William, a struggling writer who has survived every attempt to end his life, including a jump from a bridge. Leslie proposes a bargain: a killing within a week, or the money returned. William, who has two thousand dollars and a bullet chosen from Leslie's book of methods, signs. When a call about his book gives him a reason to live, William asks to postpone, and Leslie tells him the contract stands.
