Plot summary
Rosa and Ailie are young, strong-willed Scottish sisters who share almost nothing: Rosa is a left-wing activist, and Ailie was the most popular girl at school. Their father has died, and the two travel to Cuba to scatter his ashes there, in the country where family legends say he served the Revolution. Not long after the sisters reach Havana, the ashes are lost. Trying to reclaim them carries the bickering pair through misadventures both romantic and dangerous, and through cross-cultural misunderstandings between Cubans and visitors.
