Plot summary
During the Balkan war of the early nineties, Harlan Draka travels from village to village selling fake exorcisms to people who believe monsters plague them. Nightmares trouble him, and he avoids talking about his own past. Commander Emil Kurjak leads a group of soldiers into the town of Yorvolak and finds its population massacred. An elderly survivor urges them to call the Dampyr and is shot by Kurjak's soldier Stefan. When vampires attack the soldiers, Lazar and Dejan fetch Harlan. He denies that vampires are real, but Kurjak forces him into the streets as bait. Vampires ambush him there, and his blood kills them.
