Plot summary
A diamond heist goes wrong, one of the crew is killed, and Eddie Cordero, a diamond thief from the crew, wakes in a hospital room with Constable Frances Jane posted at the door. She has been assigned to guard him through the night in a unit that is nearly abandoned. Through the evening he works at talking his way out, trying one plea after another, and she does not fall for any of it. His partners from the heist break into the building and head for his room, and Constable Jane is left holding her prisoner while they move through the hospital.

- Writer-director Jason Lapeyre was approached by producer Tim Merkel, who had access to an abandoned hospital and needed a story that took place in one. Merkel toured a group of writers around the building and invited them to pitch ideas.
- Lapeyre pitched producer Tim Merkel two ideas, one a crime story and one a zombie story. Told to choose the one he felt most strongly about, he picked the crime genre, his first love.
