Christopher Antony is a boy in Kerala when a communal riot takes the lives of his sister and his parents. He goes after the men responsible with a butcher's knife, and SP Vetrivel stops him, then has the culprits killed in an extrajudicial encounter. That example sends Christopher into the police. Under Vetrivel's guidance he passes the civil service exams and is posted to Madhya Pradesh as an ASP, where breaking up a feudal network that killed women earns him a reputation as an encounter specialist.
