Plot summary
Aparna, an IPS trainee, travels to a CBI seminar for trainees, where DSP Balagopal and Inspector Vinay recall the case known as the Basket Killings. In October 2012, Kerala Home Minister Abdul Samad died aboard a flight from Delhi to Nedumbassery. Many believed natural causes, though some found the death mysterious. Suspicion grew when Samad's doctor, Venu, was also found dead. Journalist Bhasuran, who headed protests demanding a government inquiry, was found hanged the next day. A cop, Josemon, was killed by a car that struck him, and police called the connected deaths the Basket Killings. The case went to DYSP Sathyadas, a corrupt officer who dislikes the CBI and Iyer, over the objections of IG K.C Unnithan. Josemon's family petitioned the court for a CBI inquiry.
