Plot summary
In Lagos during the Christmas season, Fiyin has kept her feelings for her best friend Elozonam to herself for years. He comes home for the holidays engaged to Yagazie, whom he has been with for eight months, and Fiyin must decide whether to speak. Her cousin Ivie flies in from London, done with romance after a failed relationship and looking only for a carefree holiday, until she meets Ajani, a guitarist with a delivery job, and the gap in their backgrounds gives her pause. Fiyin's mother Gbemi, widowed for years, is courted by Zachariah Dozie, a wealthy former lover, and Toye, the dependable man who has long been at her side.
