Plot summary
Joanna Goodman is married to a successful contractor, Clint Goodman, and she is carrying on an affair with a local doctor, Cortland van Owen. The two of them plan to kill Clint, sell his company and his house, and use the money for a clinic in Beverly Hills. Cortland supplies the poison, which comes from a tropical fish. One evening, over dinner with Clint, Joanna nearly changes her mind but still puts some of it in his wine. Clint drinks it and has a heart attack, and everyone around him takes the attack for his death. Sam Eberly, a friend of Clint's, is the sheriff.
