Plot summary
Harry Caine writes screenplays in braille under a pseudonym, a blind man in Madrid who was once the film director Mateo Blanco. Judit, his agent, and her son Diego, who works as his typist and guide, look after him. When Diego is hospitalized after an accidental drug overdose, Harry stays with him and begins to tell the story of his earlier life. Fourteen years before, Magdalena, called Lena, is the young secretary and mistress of the millionaire Ernesto Martel, who pays for her dying father's medical care. Lena wants to act, and wins the lead in the film Blanco is directing by persuading Martel to finance it. Jealous and possessive, Martel sends his son Ernesto Jr. to videotape the production.
