Plot summary
Michael works a sheep farm in rural Ireland and lives there with his father, Ray. Caroline, who was once Michael's girlfriend, is married to Gary, a neighboring shepherd. Money is tight for Gary and Caroline, and a storm takes out the bridge that connects their house to the main road, adding the cost of repairs to the debts they are already arguing about. Their son Jack takes two of Michael's rams and sells them to raise money for his father, then tells Michael and Gary that he came across the two animals dead on his family's land and had to get rid of them. Michael comes upon the rams offered for sale at the livestock market and angrily faces Gary, who refuses to give them back.
