Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Brideless Groom (1947)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- While filming a scene in which Christine McIntyre's Miss Hopkins slaps Shemp Howard, she leaned too far into her punch and broke his nose for real. Director Edward Bernds kept the take in the film, and in slow motion Shemp can be seen falling and crying out in pain.
- Emil Sitka's line as the justice of the peace, "Hold hands, you lovebirds!", is engraved on his headstone, and the shot of Sitka having a birdcage smashed on his head turns up in Pulp Fiction (1994), where Eric Stoltz watches it on television.
- Brideless Groom is one of four Three Stooges shorts whose copyright expired in 1964 and which fell into the public domain, along with Disorder in the Court, Sing a Song of Six Pants and Malice in the Palace. The four frequently appear on budget VHS and DVD compilations.
- The recording of "Voices of Spring" used in Shemp and Miss Dinkelmeyer's singing lesson was sung by Christine McIntyre, who plays Miss Hopkins in the short. That same recording, and McIntyre, had previously been used in the Stooges' Micro-Phonies (1945).
