Plot summary
Archive material and conversations with musicians, friends, colleagues and journalists form the basis of a look at the last ten years of David Bowie's working life. Well-known admirers and people his art has influenced also appear. The film sets out to explain how Bowie restored his artistic standing and kept up an extraordinary level of creativity in that period, which included the album Blackstar. It reaches back to the 1990s, when Bowie was out of step with a shifting music business, and to his Glastonbury headline slot in 2000.
