Plot summary
In 1990s Los Angeles, Paul Duerson is a fan convinced that pop star and actress Sofia Minor is in love with him and that the two are meant to marry. He comes to her mansion, where her bodyguard Bell deals with him. Six months later, Bell learns that Paul has escaped from prison with a fellow inmate, Penny Pascal, and warns Sofia. Sofia has a new boyfriend, the basketball player DeVante Rhodes, and the two of them are confident in her security team. Paul keeps hold of the belief that Sofia is his, and he has help on the outside from his friend J. H. Calhoun.
