Plot summary
In 1943, the dhampir agent Rayne fights the Nazis in Europe with a French resistance group led by Nathaniel Gregor. The resistance stops a train carrying prisoners bound for concentration camps, and Rayne cuts through the German troops, coming face to face with Commander Ekart Brand. A soldier's bullet wounds her, and her blood spills across Brand's face. Elsewhere in the Third Reich, the scientist Dr. Wolfgang Mangler tortures captured vampires in his research to make Adolf Hitler immortal, and Rayne's blood is what Brand wants for that plan. Rayne and Nathaniel, who knows what she is, agree to fight the Nazis together, and Mangler's work gives the Reich a reason to hunt her.
