Plot summary
Leslie runs a dance club in Iowa and waits for her sister Ashley, who grew up in an abusive home. Their father dies of a heart attack, so Ashley moves in with her. Leslie rescues her from muggers and drains blood from one of them. Ashley learns that Leslie and five friends are thralls, half-vampires who cannot fly or turn their victims. The six women have taken the Necronomicon, hoping to use it against Mr. Jones, an ancient vampire whose henchman is Rennie. Ashley falls for Jim, a local man.
