Plot summary
Blinky Bill is a mischievous young koala in Greenpatch, the town his father, Mr. Bill, built as a place where animals could live safely. Mr. Bill is away, journeying to the Sea of White Dragons, and Blinky has grown up on the legend of him. Marcia, a marsupial mouse, is one of Blinky's best friends. When Mayor Cranklepot, a goanna, tries to dominate Greenpatch and rule it himself, Blinky decides he must go and find his father. Beyond the town's boundary lies the outback, where he meets Nutsy, a koala raised in a zoo, and Jacko, a frill-necked lizard. Sir Claude, a feral cat, holds a grudge against Mr. Bill.
