Plot summary
Suzanne Dutchman's husband Mark is a well-known businessman who travels constantly, and at a dinner party he discusses a deal with a client, Howard, while Suzanne talks with her friend Deanna. The drive home shows the couple are not happy. An undercover female agent catches Howard using and dealing cocaine, and what he says involves Mark, who is arrested; Suzanne is charged with supporting him. The judge notes that Suzanne did not know what her husband had done and gives her one hundred hours of community service. She carries it out by reading to Bill Oakland, a blind author and English lecturer, and feelings grow between them.
