Plot summary
Perry is a bilby who lives alone in the Australian Outback, where he searches for fruit and stays out of the path of a goanna. On one of his searches he comes across an albatross chick that has been abandoned and left upside down. He takes pity on her and flips her back onto her feet, and the chick immediately grows fond of him. Perry wants nothing to do with the young bird, but he cannot bring himself to leave her to the predators around them, so he sets aside his hunt for food to keep her out of harm's way.
