Plot summary
The First Cylon War is ten years old when William Adama leaves the Academy and joins the Colonial fleet. He is posted to a freighter rather than a fighter. Lt. Coker Fasjovik, his co-pilot, has only a short time left before he becomes a civilian again. The freighter's cargo is Dr. Becca Kelly, a civilian scientist. Soon after departure she brings orders for a new destination and says little about her mission. The route leads into Cylon-controlled space.
