Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Before Marisa Abela took the role, a 2015 attempt at an Amy Winehouse biopic had Noomi Rapace attached to star. Like the other projects floated after Winehouse died in 2011, it never moved forward.
- Back to Black uses many of Amy Winehouse's original songs, but the vocals heard throughout the film are Marisa Abela's own rather than Winehouse's recordings.
- Nick Cave wrote a new tribute song to Amy Winehouse, "Song for Amy", which is heard over the credits and included on the film's soundtrack.
