Plot summary

In Compton in 1986, Eazy-E escapes a police raid on a crack house, Dr. Dre argues with his mother about a job and moves out, and Ice Cube, still in high school, writes rhymes about what he sees around him. When a New York group turns down a song Cube wrote, Dre coaches Eazy through the track himself, and it becomes a hit. Eazy and Dre start Ruthless Records, and with DJ Yella and MC Ren the group N.W.A takes shape. Manager Jerry Heller offers Eazy a path to legitimacy, and the album the group records draws the attention of the police.
