Plot summary
Cory Bailey lives in Los Angeles and dreams of researching the ocean, a plan her parents, David Bailey and Rebecca Bailey, support. For the summer holiday she signs up for the Sea Science program at the Harold Academy, then boards the wrong bus and arrives at the Harold Soccer Academy's training center instead. She tries to reach the person who runs the Sea Science program so she can leave, but the attempt fails and she has to stay at the camp. On the first day she does well in science lessons and badly in soccer training, and a room is assigned to her. There she meets other amateur players who form the Worst of the Best under Coach Smith.
