Auntie Danielle (1990) on Netflix

Plot summary

Danielle Billard, 82, is a childless widow whose husband was an army colonel. She lives in Auxerre with Odile, the housekeeper who looks after her, and passes herself off as a woman in ailing health. She is in truth mean, cruel and malicious, and Odile takes the brunt of it. When Odile dies, Danielle splits her estate between her great-niece Jeanne and her great-nephew Jean-Pierre. She then goes to Paris to live with Jean-Pierre and his family, who take her for an agreeable elderly woman. In their home she uses her nastiness to manipulate the household into doing things her way.
