Plot summary
Audrie Pott is 15 and a student in Saratoga, California. Daisy Coleman is 14 and lives in Maryville, Missouri. In separate assaults, each is raped by a male classmate or friend. Afterward the girls and their families face abuse and cyberbullying online and at school. The film traces the cases through court documents, police investigations and social media, and stays with Daisy and her family for more than two years as they deal with the assault and with hostility from their town. It also covers Delaney Henderson, a student in Santa Maria, California. A local sheriff says girls carry as much culpability in cases like Daisy's.
