Plot summary
The meteor storm is treated as a one-time celestial occurrence, but astrophysicist Steve Thomas thinks the worst is still ahead. The satellite he uses to track asteroids is secretly serving military surveillance, and he brings that to the press. The disclosure costs him his job, his reputation and his friends, and the fallout puts pressure on his family. He finds that a large dark asteroid that current detection systems cannot see is on a course toward Earth. With his own satellite off limits, he works in the shadows.
