Askari (2001) on Netflix

Plot summary

Paula McKinley monitors the elephant families of Morena Game Park, and her husband Joss is the reserve's game warden. A government cull has wiped out one of those families, and the lone surviving bull, an old elephant named Askari, has turned rogue. Patrick Khumalo, a corrupt official, and Ribshaw, a poacher, are caught up in the culling. Ribshaw has blackmailed an old tracker, Ndhlovu, into helping him. Paula's sixteen-year-old niece Emma Crawshay, left orphaned, is sent to Morena, and her aunt and uncle take her in. Emma finds life there closed off at first, but her aunt's passion for the herds draws her in, above all the O group and a calf named Ollie.
