Plot summary
Hong Kong's Pillar Point fire division is home to three old friends working out of the same station, where politics, competition and distrust run between the firemen. Ho Wing-sam serves there as a senior station officer, Lee Pui-to as a chief fireman, and Cheung Man-kin as a rookie. On Christmas Eve a blaze starts in a rundown residential block. The flames are close to a power plant that supplies the city with natural gas, and if the fire reaches it the whole city could be plunged into darkness. Crews from the division work the scene, among them fireman Ocean, who moved to Hong Kong from China.
