Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Arachnid (2001)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Sholder said the editor had never cut a horror film before, and when he came back to Barcelona to look at the first cut he found "a giant spider movie without a giant spider".
- The giant spider needed six or eight professional puppeteers on top of the two operators sent with it, one for each leg plus the mouth and the electronics, but the production got six university students with no experience at all, who had about a day to work out who was moving what.
- Sholder was set to direct a 12 million dollar action film with Steven Seagal, and he kept the Arachnid producers waiting in the hope of a green light for it, until they told him it was yes or no right now. The Seagal project fell apart.
- Brian Yuzna contacted Robert Kurtzman and Tobe Hooper about directing the film, but producer Julio Fernández suggested Jack Sholder after watching The Hidden.
