Plot summary

After his wife dies, Oren Little keeps his neighbors at a distance and shows no patience for children, including Luke, the grown son he is estranged from. He works as a realtor and wants to sell one final house before retiring. Next door lives Leah, a widow who never had children and who has thrown her effort into restarting a singing career that had stalled. One day Luke arrives and leaves his young daughter Sarah with Oren, expecting his father to look after her. Sarah is a granddaughter Oren did not know he had. Having no idea how to raise a child, he asks Leah to take charge of the girl.
