Plot summary
Meredith Kercher, a British exchange student, is found dead in Italy in 2007, and suspicion falls on her roommate Amanda Knox, an American student, and on Knox's boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito. Italian prosecutor Giuliano Mignini leads the case against them, and the tabloid coverage of the killing turns Knox into a notorious figure. Nick Pisa, a freelance reporter for the Daily Mail, is among the journalists who follow the case. The documentary is built from interviews with Knox, Sollecito, Mignini and Pisa, and it follows the investigation and the years of court proceedings. Knox describes what it is to be seen as a monster or as an ordinary person who is vulnerable.
