Plot summary
Taken off patrol while he awaits a hearing over a shooting on duty, Asger Holm spends his shift answering emergency calls at a Copenhagen dispatch desk. A woman named Iben speaks as if she were addressing a child, and her answers to his yes-or-no questions reveal that she has been taken against her will and is traveling north by van. The call breaks off. Asger traces her number and telephones her home, where a young girl picks up. The girl says her father Michael no longer lives there, that he came to the house and left with Iben, and that he drives a white van. Asger asks the North Zealand police to look for the vehicle and stays at his desk after his shift ends.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about The Guilty (2018)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Confining the film to a single police dispatch center let Gustav Möller shoot The Guilty for about €500,000 (US$570,671), with filming taking just 13 days using a three-camera setup.
- The story began with a YouTube clip of a kidnapped woman calling an emergency dispatcher while her kidnapper sat nearby; director Gustav Möller was struck by how much an audio clip could convey with no pictures at all.
- Möller and cinematographer Jasper Spanning split the script into eight segments, changing the camera lenses and visual approach for each, with the segments running from 5 to 35 minutes of screen time.
