Plot summary
Savannah Martin is a young horror novelist whose new book has taken the genre by storm. She comes back for her brother's graduation and settles in at her childhood home for a weekend with her friends. Her father, David, is the police chief of the small town, where he investigates murders and other foul play that are grimmer than the quiet life around him. A dark secret lies behind Savannah's success, and it moves through her dreams into the hours when she is awake. The past haunts her and night terrors trouble her sleep. Fireside stories and sexual tensions fill the weekend while her despondency and her father's case collide.
