Plot summary
In the village of Aranjali, preparations are under way for the annual temple festival. Lali and Ambi are mahouts there, and they bring an elephant named Neysseri Parthan for the celebrations. Kannan is an unemployed young man, and he and his friends, among them Vinu, trade words with the mahouts over a small matter. The disagreement grows until Lali kicks Kannan and thrashes Vinu. Enraged, Kannan and his friends want revenge, and together they plan a large-scale mayhem at the temple festival. Aranjali's younger and middle-aged men mostly drink and carry their egos high, and the celebrations are drawing near.
