Against All Enemies (2023) on Netflix

Plot summary

On January 6, 2021, a crowd stormed the US Capitol, and more than a thousand people were charged. About fifteen percent of them had served as police officers or in the military. The documentary examines how veterans who took an oath to defend the country come to join domestic violent extremist groups. Accounts come from veterans, historians and former law enforcement officers, along with footage of the Oath Keepers; the Proud Boys and the 3 Percenters also appear. Most veterans move into civilian life without trouble, but a radicalized minority is drawn to the insurrectionist cause. The documentary traces where that cause came from and looks at the former military officers and political leaders who provide it cover.
