Plot summary
Casting JonBenet takes place at a casting call in Colorado, where local performers try out for the parts of the real people in the JonBenét Ramsey case: John and Patsy Ramsey, Burke Ramsey, John Mark Karr and police officials from Boulder. Dressed as the figures they hope to play, the candidates talk about what the case stirs in them and put forward their own speculations. Their try-outs are meant to supply the re-enactments in a documentary about the crime. Two decades on, the film watches the events turn into a subject of pop-cultural obsession and conspiracy rather than simply recording what happened.
