Plot summary
Thug is an aging former boxer who now serves as muscle for Charlie Conner, a Boston gangster, often working with Charlie's son Kyle, who is still learning the trade. A diagnosis of CTE brings the news that dementia will follow within two years. Thug chooses to live and to atone for what he has done. A woman he meets at a bar keeps him company in his home. He reaches out to his estranged children. His daughter Daisy wants nothing to do with him and is raising two children alone in a house she is about to lose. Thug befriends her son Dre, brings him to a boxing gym and starts showing him the basics.
