Plot summary
In Harran, a wealthy city, Abram and his wife Sarai have grown old without children, and Eliezer of Damascus is their only heir. Then Abram hears the voice of God, who orders him to leave Harran behind for a land he has never seen. God promises to make a great nation of him and gives him the name Abraham and his wife the name Sarah.
